2009
An installation piece with sound.
Throat’ is a piece where the physicality of the sound becomes almost as present as the materials. In the work, a wax shape is presented in a wood box with a glass cover. Next to it there’s a speaker that plays
‘this’ particular sound: a recording of a rhythm mainly using this part of the body. |
|
Evoking two fictional extractions of the same part of the body, presented in two different formats: the hollow wax shape almost feels as a cast of a throat’s empty space, while the sound has a strange but comforting rhythm.
The viewer moves between the two elements, which are brought together by the title, suggesting its dependency.
